Rosewood Family Health Center Welcomes New Clinic Director
PORTLAND – Working as a medical assistant at a community health center was a life-changing experience for Kate Pillar. It was then she knew she wanted to work with underserved populations in the healthcare setting.
Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is pleased to welcome Pillar to Rosewood Family Health Center and Rosewood Family Health Center at Lents, in Portland. Kate joins the Rosewood team as the clinic director with 13 years of healthcare experience, and eight years of management experience.
What has always motivated Kate was the legacy her mother left as a director of a nonprofit.
“I saw her helping the community, and I knew I wanted to do that, too,” Pillar said.
It became even clearer where she wanted to be after working in the Federally Qualified Health Care setting.
“I’m so excited to be part of Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic where we serve anyone, regardless of their ability to pay,” she added.
When she’s not at work helping deliver quality healthcare in her community, she loves spending time with her children at OMSI and the Oregon Zoo.
